Have you ever felt a wave of anxiety just thinking about showing up on social media for your business? You know you need to be visible to attract clients, but something inside stops you from hitting 'post' or pressing record.
The fear of judgment, imposter syndrome, or “What if I look stupid?” "What will my friends and family think?" "What if they think I'm trying to be an influencer?!"
I've been there and I get it. Visibility fears are so common among business owners, and they can keep you stuck in a cycle of overthinking and inaction.
But what if you could clear that fear in just a few minutes?
Enter: Tapping (EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique).
Tapping is a powerful technique that helps release emotional blocks, calm your nervous system, and shift your mindset so you can take action with confidence. In this post, I’m going to walk you through a simple tapping sequence designed to help you show up boldly on social media and start promoting your business with ease.
Why it's so Hard to Feel Confident getting Visible
Before we dive into the tapping sequence, let’s acknowledge what might be holding you back:
Fear of judgment: What if people think I’m not good enough?
Perfectionism: I need to look and sound polished before I post.
Fear of failure: What if no one engages or worse... what if they do and they think my stuff is crap?
Imposter syndrome: Who am I to be talking about this?
Fear of success (yes, really!): What if I actually become visible and then can’t handle it?
If any of these resonate, tapping is about to be your new best friend.
The Tapping Sequence for Visibility Confidence
Step 1: Identify the Emotion
Take a deep breath and ask yourself: How do I feel about showing up on social media? Notice any resistance, doubt, or fear that comes up. Rate the intensity of this feeling on a scale of 0-10 (10 being the strongest).
Step 2: The Confidence Tapping Script
We’re going to tap on specific acupressure points while repeating statements that acknowledge the fear and then reframe it. I've made a video to make this super easy for you to follow along.
Step 3: Reassess and Repeat if Needed
Take a deep breath and check in with yourself. How does the fear feel now? Has the intensity dropped? If it’s still high, repeat the tapping sequence until it feels lighter.
Now, do this daily!! And start looking for ways to start posting... be gentle with yourself and allow it to take time. But also know, you have to start.
You Are Meant to Be Seen and Feel Confident on Social Media!
You wouldn't have started this journey of building a solo business if that wasn't the case. Your audience needs what you have to offer. Hiding serves no one. You don’t need to be perfect to show up—you just need to be real.
I plug this so much because it is so true. People need real, messy, fun and informative. You can give them that.
The more you tap and clear your fears, the easier it becomes to show up consistently. And consistency is what builds trust, authority, and a thriving business.
